A violent home invasion in Glenburn has left a community shaken, two individuals behind bars, and a beloved family dog missing. According to the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded Sunday afternoon on Danforth Drive, where gunshots and property damage marked a harrowing day for one local homeowner.
Authorities responded around 3:10 p.m. after receiving a report from a resident who said several masked individuals had stormed her property, fired shots, and severely damaged both her home and vehicle. Thankfully, no injuries were reported inside the residence.
The caller was able to provide police with a detailed description of the fleeing suspects. Officers attempted to intercept the suspects’ vehicle on Union Street in Hermon, but the car sped off, prompting a pursuit.
At the intersection of Davis Road and Finson Road in Bangor, the vehicle slowed, and two individuals fled on foot while the driver continued heading back toward Glenburn. Law enforcement soon found one of the fleeing suspects hiding under a mobile home trailer.
Meanwhile, deputies located the suspect vehicle at an unassociated residence on Lake View Road in Glenburn. Investigators say the suspect broke into the home while the owners were away. The suspect was captured inside the house, but not before a heartbreaking twist occurred — the homeowners’ 9-year-old English Mastiff, named Rosie, ran away in the chaos.
Rosie is described as friendly but timid. She was last seen wearing a collar and a pink bandana containing her identification details. Police are urging residents in the Glenburn area to be on the lookout and report any sightings of her.
So far, 36-year-old George Overlock of Carmel and 22-year-old Raphael Cupidon of Massachusetts have been arrested and face multiple charges related to the break-in and flight from police. A third suspect remains at large.
Anyone with information about Rosie or the missing suspect is encouraged to contact the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office.
