Woman Turns Boeing Plane Into Fully Functional Home

Buses, small houses, and shipping containers have all seen a surge in appeal as potential building materials for one-of-a-kind dwellings. These alternatives to standard lodgings offer the same level of comfort at a fraction of the price and with a wide range of personalization options. But Jo Ann Ussery made her own unique house long before it was cool.

Jo Ann Ussery's remarkable project went on to inspire others with one man now even holding festivals where the artists perform on the wings of his home in Hillsboro, Oregon, US. Devastated after losing her home to a fire, a woman picked herself up and renovated an old Boeing 727 to live in. Jo Ann Ussery bought the old passenger plane, which was on its way to the scrapyard, and shipped it to a plot of land she already owned.
