Woman Rescues Baby Squirrel After She Falls Out Of Nest – She Comes Back One Year Later With Special 'Gift'

It was a cold and windy day in South Africa when a little squirrel fell out of her nest. Simone Serfontein was at her friend’s house when she heard the squirrel crying for his mother, but she never came to get him.

Simone knew that she would eventually have to say goodbye to Dingetjie, since she is a wild animal, after all. The couple eventually took her to their garden and laid her in the grass to see how she would react."Next thing, she got into a tree and her natural instincts immediately kicked in," Simone recounted. "It was pretty amazing and sad at the same time."
