Have You Ever Seen The Mesmerising Salt Formations Of Iran
Who knew salt could be so amazing. Have you ever heard of the mesmerising salt rock in Iran? Million of years ago, the Persian Gulf was a much larger body of water than it is today, inundating large sections of the Arabian peninsula in the south and Iran in the west. As the water evaporated and the shores of the sea retreated, it left behind vast quantities of salt.
A salt glacier, about 14 km across, in the Zagros Mountains. Nowhere else in the world such cumulative of salt domes can be seen, according to UNESCO. The site is not yet a World Heritage Site, but is being considered for inclusion.
