Golden Lion Tamarin Twins Born At Atlanta Zoo: 'Two Especially Important Births'
Atlanta Zoo has been doubly blessed this week with the birth of Golden Lion Tamarin Twins! The Zoo recently announced that the endangered Golden Lion Tamarins, Blixx and Tiete, have birthed twins in February.

With the twins now a month old, the babies are both keeping in good health! According to the Zoo, the newborns weighed just two ounces each when born. And after an "exceptionally fragile" first month, which is very common in this breed, the twins are healthy and growing. The birth of any animal at Zoo Atlanta is cause for celebration, but Zoo Atlanta's long partnership in the conservation of this endangered species makes these especially important births that are crucial to the long-term viability of their species.
