The fennec fox is a standout among fox species. It is native to the Sahara Desert of northern Africa and can be found as far east as Kuwait. This species is uniquely adapted for life in a harsh desert setting, from its small size to its enormous ears. Their ears, of course, adds height but the foxes are relatively small. They're the smallest known breed of canid (foxes, dogs, etc) where fully-grown foxes can weigh anywhere from 1.5 to 3 pounds.
