Retired Greyhound Seeks Loving Forever Home in Bromsgrove

A retired greyhound in Bromsgrove is looking for a caring family to welcome her into her new life. Three-year-old Princess Peach, a former racing dog, is now ready to enjoy a comfortable and peaceful retirement.

Meet Princess Peach: The Ex-Racing Greyhound Ready for a New Chapter

Princess Peach is a sweet-natured greyhound who is still adjusting to life outside the racetrack. While she enjoys a good fuss and playful moments, such as chasing a ball, she's still learning the basics of dog life and hasn't quite figured out how to pick it up yet.

Laura Coveney, the center manager at Blue Cross in Bromsgrove, shared that the ideal home for Princess Peach would be one where she can settle at her own pace. She would benefit from living with a confident dog to show her the ropes and could be a great companion for older children who understand her sensitive nature.

"Despite common misconceptions, ex-racing greyhounds don't require intense exercise," said Coveney. "They simply need a few walks and lots of time to relax and nap."

Blue Cross Campaign to End Greyhound Racing

Between 2017 and 2024, over 4,000 greyhounds lost their lives, and more than 35,000 injuries were recorded within the racing industry. Two years ago, Blue Cross launched its #DontRaceEmbrace campaign, which has garnered significant support, with over 100,000 people signing a petition to end greyhound racing. The petition has now been submitted to Downing Street, with Blue Cross urging animal lovers to continue advocating for racing greyhounds by writing to their MPs.

Princess Peach is just one of many greyhounds seeking a loving home. As part of the ongoing campaign, Blue Cross calls on the public to stand up for these dogs and push for a future free from the cruel and outdated practice of greyhound racing.
